  • On’s Outdoor Lighting Stock Exceeds Expectations

    Over the last couple of years, On has been beefing up its stock in IP rated architectural lighting. We now have an extensive stock of outdoor lighting equipment to compliment any event. We previously featured our COLORado, Q40 LED Panel and to add to this, we have just taken delivery of the eLumin8 Endura 7HEX12 LED Par Can.

    Our newest lighting purchase from eLumen8, is from their latest range of IP rated exterior pars. The heavy-duty Endura series are rental ready IP65 fixtures made for the most demanding of applications.

    Built to last, these professional pars have robust, all-weather housings allowing the user the flexibility to use them in a wide range of environments, including outdoor events and touring where protection from moisture, rain and dust is essential. With 9 different LED output and colour options available from cool and warm white through to RGBW, RGBA.

    With flicker-free operation, this series is also perfectly suited for both live and TV applications thanks to a 3,600Hz refresh rate. They also have an abundance of functions including DMX, colour macro, change, fade, strobe, master/slave and 4 selectable dimmer curves.

    We recently took these, and our Q40’s, out on the road and put them through their paces at a month-long outdoor installation at a English Heritage site in Worcestershire, Witley Court and Gardens. Our team fully designed and installed a number a of feature areas and lit up much of the grounds and house to create a sell-out magical outdoor experience, Enchanted Witley.

    During the month-long install, our fixtures endured heavy rains, wind and freezing temperatures and survived the ordeal with ease and after a quick clean-up were ready to go again.

  • On Increases Warehousing Space with the Addition of a New Mezzanine

    03/02/20

    Following the growth in the business over the last few years, and in particular with the requirement to create more space for additional planned rental equipment, we have spent the last month installing and commissioning a new mezzanine floor.

    2020 will see the complete overhaul of our existing microphone stock together with further investments in rigging and additional PA equipment. The majority of this will allow flex in our operation to meet additional demands as a result of the recent partnership with Birmingham venue, The Eastside Rooms.

    Key highlights of the installation are: Creation of an additional 277 m2 floor space, inclusion of a 3m wide fork bay. The mezzanine is 3m from the floor with a 2.7m ceiling underneath maximizing all available space beneath. The mezzanine has been constructed using powder-coated steel beams and a 38mm chipboard floor to allow for 4.8kn per SQM. Access to the upper floor has been gained by installation of a 32ft long dog leg ramp.

    To further build on our sustainability focus, environmentally friendly eco lights have been installed that turn on only as and when needed via motion sensors.

    A dust-proof steel wall, 7m Tall at the apex and 15.6m wide has also been installed to separate the fabrication department from the warehouse facilitating the growth in both departments. Fabrication have gained approximately 15m x 11mm of extra build and testing space giving us a new large space to test build exhibition stands.

    We strongly believe that video content should sit at the centre of any conference or event. When visuals are eye-catching and crisp, key messages land brilliantly keeping the audience fully engaged. To underpin this belief, we recently decided to make a significant investment into Unilumin 2.6mm LED Wall

    2.6mm has become the new industry standard and at 1200 nits, our video wall is incredibly bright, and with a 140 degree super-wide viewing angle, it can be seen clearly wherever you are sat in the room. As technology has improved, LED video wall has become more accessible with the cost becoming more affordable to a wider range of clients, and more importantly, the visual clarity of the screens available has increased dramatically. What we love about video wall is its versatility, stunning deep colour reproduction and, of course, its brightness. It allows us to design visually appealing and engaging events for our clients. 

    We stock Unilumin UPADIII 2.6 LED video wall. At 2.6mm pitch we can achieve full HD resolution at 5m wide and 3m tall making our wall suitable for indoor applications with shorter viewing distances from 2.6m. 4K resolution can be achieved with just 60 square meters of wall.

    Due to the size and weight of the panels, a single person can install and re-dig the LED video wall. The panels are accessible from the rear and have a magnetic design which makes installing the video wall from either the ground or from above a breeze.     Chauvet's new COLORado Panel Q40 is a powerful new addition to our rental stock. At 36% more powerful than an SGM P5, they have an incredible output of 600w, which for a unit of this size needs to be seen to be believed.

    The 40 x 15W LED's of the IP65-rated wash light are controlled in four banks of 10 enabling the fixture to achieve some amazing effects. The Q40 is fully controllable with DMX or W-DMX. We have them cased in 6's and 2's and ready to go.

    Further to our investment of more Panasonic projectors, we have also expanded our range of control & processing hardware by purchasing the Barco S3-4K Junior Screen Management Controller.

    This unit is capable of seamless switching with multi in / out setups, multilayer, edge blends, active comfort monitor systems and more. The Barco S3-4K is ideal for high-end events because it is so flexible and can be tailored to the needs of each event perfectly. Our Barco S3 racks come with 12 inputs that are made up of 4x SDI / 4x Display Port / 4x HDMI.

    Our S3 comes pre-racked. It has a customisable Multiview Output which is sent to a 17” Black Magic Design screen showing whatever you set it up to. The rack includes a custom panel matching the design on all our other video racks. It allows for power in and out of the rack including the redundant PSU in the S3, and data from the built-in network switch inside.

    In keeping with our commitment to providing clients with impactful, seamlessly executed experiences, and in order to keep pace with the latest technology, We have made an investment in 20 Chauvet Professional Maverick MK1 Spot fixtures to add to our our lighting inventory. 

    The Maverick addition came at the end of a long and extensive research process that began when we first encountered the MK1 Spot at last year’s Prolight + Sound. Impressed by what we saw at the Frankfurt show our team surveyed industry members about the product and did a cost analysis before putting it to a shoot-out test with competing fixtures.

    “We shot-out the Mavericks against some of their competitors at our warehouse, and they were certainly the best value for the money when you looked at features, optics and brightness,” commented Production Director, Adam Dewhurst. “As a result, we had no qualms about adding these into our inventory to take care of larger events requiring added visual punch.” 

    With its intense output, the 350W moving fixture will be powerful enough to handle even the largest events served by On. Being an LED fixture, the Maverick MK1 Spot will also offer the company savings in terms of operating costs. Features like variable frost, CMY colour mixing, a 5:1 zoom, dual gobo wheels and three-facet prism give the MK1 Spot the versatility to meet the needs of our wide range of projects.

  • Sleep Easy 2018 Charity Challenge

    Team from On hoping to ‘Sleep Easy’ as they brave the elements during charity challenge.

    A team of directors and staff from On Event Production Co. are set to brave the elements while sleeping rough for one night in March to raise money and awareness for a charity which helps the homeless.

    The team of eleven will be taking part in YMCA Derbyshire’s Sleep Easy 2018 challenge, which will see them spend a night under the stars, in cardboard boxes, in support of YMCA Derbyshire.

    All the money raised will go directly to the charity’s Safe Front Door campaign, which enables YMCA Derbyshire to continue providing safe accommodation, opportunities for young people to engage in positive activities, work experience and volunteer opportunities and gain business mentors.

    Sleep Easy is an annual event and takes place at the Derbyshire County Cricket Club on 9 March. Last year’s event saw 115 volunteers take part, enabling the charity to provide 151 beds each night, accommodate 317 people and continue to support residents and young people in need of its services to rebuild their lives and help eliminate youth homelessness.

    On Event Production Co., which is based in Castle Donington, delivers production services for business events, conferences, brand and product launches, and live music events on behalf of a wide range of British and global brands.

    Its Sleep Easy Team comprises Managing Director Guy Eaton, Operations Director Paul White, Director Ann Kerwood, Production Manager Anabelle Parslow, Draftsman Ben Dorrington, Production Engineer Jake Roberts, Warehouse Management and staff Iain Hunt, Matt Sudbury and Danny Melbourne, and Fabricators Jethro Sigley and Sean Inger. They hope to raise a combined total in excess of £2,500 for the charity.

    Guy said: “As a socially-responsible company that’s proud of its Derbyshire roots, we believe strongly in giving something back to our community, which is why we are doing this challenge.

    “YMCA Derbyshire does such vital work with vulnerable young adults in the city and across the county and is a cause that is close to all our hearts here at On.

    “One night’s cold and discomfort is nothing compared to the things that some of the people the charity works with have to face, so braving the elements is a small price to pay for helping to helping to raise money and awareness of the charity and the fantastic work it does.”

  • On creates a stunning exhibition stand for pharmacy app launch

    Whilst bringing live events to life and inspiring audiences is a big part of what we do here at On Event Production Co, we’ve also got a huge amount of expertise in creating exhibition stands which help brands to stand out from the crowd.

    We were approached by healthcare technology company Cegedim Rx to help create the perfect platform to launch its latest software package, Healthi, at the Pharmacy Show 2017.

    The firm needed to create an environment to allow its staff to engage with visitors and demonstrate the product – a new online portal for clinical service provision, which enables pharmacists to deliver efficient services, by creating a single view of the patient.

    We utilised a mix of print and digital solutions to create a visually stunning exhibition stand to help Cegedim Rx launch their new product.

    Our client said: “We worked with On Event Production Co. to bring together a complete stand package for the Pharmacy Show.

    “We had a new product to launch and the time scales were pretty tight to deliver what we needed. On were exceptional in quickly getting to grips with exactly what we were looking for.

    “They delivered a design that needed very little tweaking and was spot on for our needs. The end result was a perfect platform from which to launch our product.

    “The team was so attentive when we arrived and didn’t leave until we were happy with every little last detail… even the pieces that didn’t fall to them. The feedback we received at the show really spoke for itself.

    We were delighted to work with specialist warranty provider Domestic & General to help deliver their first ‘People Managers Town Hall’ event aimed at inspiring its staff from across the UK and Europe.

    The theme of the event was Customers, Culture & Change. It was the first time the firm had run an event of this scale, with the aim of engaging and inspiring staff.

    Oaks Hall, at Epsom Downs Racecourse, is a multipurpose space which needed transforming to create the right environment for the event.

    On Event Production Co. were tasked with the live event production, including the provision of designing a stage set that was on-brand and on-theme, and integrated large format video screens to show digital content for all the audience to easily read and view.

    We provided professional presenter support which allowed each presenter to focus on the messages they needed to deliver, without any concerns about the tech.

    We utilised interactive technology with iPads on each table for question polling, submitting questions and answers to create a giant word cloud of feedback.

    Lighting played an important role in creating the right environment to set the tone and create zones in the room for group activities, with each table having an illuminated coloured globe that was mapped and controlled together with the dynamic lighting rig flown above.

    The working lunch session included four small presentation stages and each delegate was given a pair of wireless headphones and could tune into each presentation as they made their way around the room.

  • On notches up Nottingham Spiegeltent hat-trick

    Nottingham’s historic market square once again played host to the Spiegeltent, for an annual extravaganza of unique dance, music and entertainment.

    This was the third year that the team here at On was tasked with providing sound and lighting for the event, which is fast becoming a firm fixture in the city’s annual social calendar.

    Having spent its life touring the world, from New York to Sydney, the Spiegeltent returned to Nottingham for a ten-day stint last month. The century-old travelling dance hall is made of wood and finished ornate decorations and mirrors. It hosted a packed schedule of great events including family theatre, music performances, a comedy night and burlesque shows, plus food and drink.

    This year’s show highlights included an opening night spectacular with The Gilded Merkin Burlesque and Cabaret - Nottingham’s biggest Burlesque show, Angelo Starr and the Team Edwin Starr Band performing live for an evening of the greatest Motown and classic Northern soul hits, and the hilarious musical comedy of Royal Vauxhall, based on a true story involving Kenny Everett, Freddie Mercury and Princess Diana.

    Jake Moore, production manager, said: “After working on Spiegeltent for the past two years, we were delighted to make it a hat-trick in 2017 by returning to provide lighting and sound for this year’s event.

    “Speigeltent is a really tricky thing to explain, it’s a quirky but beautiful space which plays host to breathtaking performances which inspire and really capture the imagination of the audience, so it was great to be involved once again.”

    After more than a decade of successful shows, it was announced earlier this year that BPM | PRO, which took place in Birmingham at the end of last month, would be its last.

    The flagship event, which started life as the DJ-focussed BPM back in 2007, grew into a full-scale entertainment technology show, incorporating everything from high-end audio/lighting to award-nominated FX Stages.

    On Event Production Co. has provided production management services to BPM | PRO from the very start, so we were saddened to hear that this year’s event was its last.

    However, it also inspired us to ensure we pulled out all the stops to make the final event go out with a bang, inspire the audience and leave a lasting and memorable impression.

    BPM | PRO will leave a lasting legacy. Here are some of the things it achieved:

    Pioneering new technology - As the entertainment technology industry’s biggest expo worldwide, BPM | PRO was always the place to be to discover the very latest innovations and new technologies that have powered the dance scene in both the UK and around the world.

    Many of the biggest manufacturers in the business used the show to launch their latest products and see their equipment put through its paces by some of the world’s best-known DJs.

    Bringing the industry together - BPM | PRO was one of the only places where bedroom amateurs could rub shoulders with the world’s top DJs, industry experts and manufacturers of the best DJ tech and equipment all under one roof. It also really helped to set the agenda for electronic music worldwide.

    Championing fresh talent - Giving new, up-and-coming DJs a platform to showcase their skills to industry specialists was a big part of what BPM was all about and each year, it gave the latest batch of amateur DJs the chance to impress through competitions and talent showcases.

    Sharing the knowledge - Many of the latest tricks and techniques used by the new generation of DJs was picked up at BPM. The event has played host to a roster of top names from around the world over the years, all of whom were more than happy to give demos, share their knowledge and pass on the tools of the trade to the next generation of DJs in the audience.

    Most of all, though, BPM | PRO will perhaps be remembered for putting on a bloody good show every year, one which the team here at On is extremely proud to have been a part of every year.

    So, while we lament the loss of BPM | PRO, it’s more celebratory than down-hearted and we look forward to seeing what the future holds when it makes way for four new market sector-focused shows which will debut next year.

    Although Murray Mania ran out of steam at Wimbledon this year as Roger Federer notched up a record eighth men’s title, here at On Event Production Co. we were busy creating a couple of inspiring hospitality experiences for Stella Artois on behalf of award winning brand and experiential agency, FRUKT.

    The brand hosted a hospitality area, to entertain its clients and invited guests during Wimbledon fortnight in a custom marquee within the grounds. We were tasked by our good friends at FRUKT to do the hi-spec fit-out of Stella Artois’ hospitality tent, which included table runners, bars and a artificial ‘living wall’.

    On Event Production Co. recently reaffirmed commitment to maintaining the ISO 9001 quality management accreditation and are now working towards the new 9001:2015 standard.

    ISO is a quality management system (QMS) for organisations that want to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet the needs of their customers and other relevant stakeholders.

    We were originally awarded the ISO 9001 accreditation at the end of 2014 in recognition of our excellent quality management principles - notably our processes and controls, strong customer focus, the motivation of top management and commitment to continuous improvement.

    Now, we’re working towards achieving the new 9001:2015 standard, which varies greatly to the prior 9001:2008 accreditation, and are due to be assessed by assessors from the British Assessment Bureau (BAB) in November.

    The programme is being headed-up by operations director Paul White, together with managing director Guy Eaton. In order to pass our assessment, we will need to take a holistic view of the company and demonstrate how On operates to the highest levels of professionalism and competence.

  • £2.5m regeneration project for Derby Cathedral

    05/05/17

    Leading Midlands live events company, On Event Production Co., is one of four partners that are teaming up to help transform the interior of Derby Cathedral into an innovative and flexible space open to everyone in the city.

    We've joined forces with Derby Cathedral, Derby QUAD and the University of Derby to work on the five-year regeneration project, entitled ‘Revealing the Derby Story’, which will enhance the Cathedral’s ability to host events and concerts on a large scale.

    The £2.5m project aims to open up the Cathedral’s heritage and restore this extraordinary space at the heart of the city. It will focus on four main areas: providing new flexible seating, replacing the 1930’s concrete floor, offering visitors an immersive understanding of the history and significance of the Cathedral, and restoring the unique Compton organ.

    The four partners will tap in to technological innovations to recover the original vision for the building, create a 21st century Cathedral where visitors will be able to uncover the rich history of the city and the significance of the Cathedral in particular.

    Our award-winning team here at On will be using their considerable experience and expertise of the live events sector to ensure that the Cathedral’s unique interior is transformed into an area suitable for hosting a wide range of events.

    It is hoped that the project will attract new visitors to the city centre and bring the city to life at night.  It will also provide students at the University of Derby with valuable work experience as interns involved in all areas of the project.

    Derby Cathedral is the Cathedral for Derby and Derbyshire and a city centre place of worship in the heart of Derby’s Cathedral Quarter.

    Commenting on the project, Revd Dr Sue Jones, Acting Dean of Derby, said:

    “We want to enable the Cathedral to offer a gathering place for events and services large and small. This will invigorate the city centre and help the Cathedral’s work to continue for centuries to come.”

    Here are On Event Production Co. we're inspired to inspire others, with a passion that's infectious, and we thought we'd share a little about what it's like to be a great production manager in the live events industry... So we threw Jake under the spotlight and here's what he had to share...

    Job title - Production Manager

    When did you join the company - February 2016                                                               

     

    How long have you been in the events industry?

    I’ve worked in the industry for almost 10 years. I started working for another local events company as a technician and worked my way up to being a production co-ordinator.

    On Event Production Co. really appealed to me because I’m passionate about delivering events which inspire people and have a true impact on their audience.

    I’m a creative person by nature, so the opportunity to be able to apply that creativity to every project we work on is hugely satisfying and is the reason why I love my job. 

    Also, the team here is a really tight-knit one – it’s like a big, extended family. That’s great, because we all understand the way each other works and thinks and the different skills we each bring to the table.

    It means we can all work together to create solutions for our clients which are the best they can be, every time.

     

    What does your job entail?

    My role is really varied. One day I might be planning a large-scale event and the next, I’ll be out on-site installing something completely different. No two days are ever the same.

    Also, as a production manager I often prepare pitches for new projects and clients, which gives my role a really interesting mix.

    I’m passionate about inspiring people and helping our clients to think differently about the way they approach events, so they can make the biggest impact and really engage their audience.

    I’m lucky enough to be involved in many parts of the business, from initial enquiries and meetings to producing quotes, booking set, crew and trucking, so I can see how the whole process links together and where we might be able to things differently and add an extra layer of creativity or imagination.

    I also spend a lot of time visiting sites to oversee the installation and delivery of an event. It’s great to see everything come together right before your eyes.  

     

    What hours do you work?

    There’s never a dull moment in the events industry and it’s definitely not a nine-to-five job. There’s a lot of late night and weekend work involved, but seeing the impact that what we do for clients has on their own audiences and customers makes it enjoyable and worthwhile.

    The fact that we work for lots of different agencies makes the work really varied.

    We travel around the UK, setting up for events for a diverse range of different companies, which I really enjoy.

    On is very customer-focused and customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do. While it’s important that we always deliver what the clients want, it’s also about helping them to think differently about what it is that they need as well, because that’s how we can take events from being ordinary to being truly inspiring.

    We achieve this by really getting to know them and developing long term relationships.

     

    What’s the best thing about the job?

    It’s got to be the people. We’re a close-knit team at On, so we all know each other really well and there’s a great vibe around the place. But we get to meet lots of friendly and interesting people at events too, which is great.

    Another thing I love about the job is the fact I get to use my creative skills every day, on every project.

    I believe in thinking big. Nothing’s ever too ambitious for the us.

    We love pushing the boundaries and go all-out to make sure our events are original, innovative but most of all, inspiring.

     

    What’s the most memorable project you’ve ever worked on and why?

    The most exciting and memorable project I’ve ever worked on was last year’s UK press conference for Disney’s Finding Dory.

    As well as getting to meet stars like Ellen De Generes, we worked with one of the main designers at Pixar, which was amazing.

    Pixar takes creativity to another level and we knew the film was going to be a massive global hit, so it was more important than ever to come up with something that was truly inspirational and would really engage people to create a buzz about the film ahead of its release.  

     

    Would you recommend getting into the events industry?

    Without a doubt. There’s a lot of hard work that goes into creating an event which inspires people and leaves long-lasting memories, which people don’t often get to see.

    But, I get to be creative every day, I get to work with fantastic people, and I get to visit lots of interesting places.

    Most importantly, I get to help create events which excite, entertain, engage and inspire people. 

    I can’t think of many other jobs where you get to do that every day.

    On Event Production Co. are delighted to announce that we've been recognised for our commitment to employee engagement, with re-accreditation from Investors In People.

    We were originally awarded the prestigious Investors In People (IIP) accreditation in Spring 2014 after a rigorous assessment to review our staff development strategies and the performance of our staff. This meant measuring-up against a series of 39 ‘must-haves’, covering everything from business planning and leadership, to management effectiveness and performance measurement.

    Now, following our latest assessment, we have been re-accredited for a further three years.

    The Investors In People award is a business improvement tool, which is designed to help organisations improve performance and meet business objectives through the development of their staff.

    Members from the team here at On were recently interviewed by IIP assessors and from their feedback as well as evidence taken during the sessions, we passed ‘with flying colours’ and have now been encouraged to go for the higher standard of accreditation.

    Commenting on receiving IIP reaccreditation, Guy Eaton, managing director of On Event Production Co., said:

    “We’re so pleased that our Investors in People accreditation is set to continue for a further three years. We really care about our staff and take on board all their suggestions, so it’s great to have that positive feedback verified by an independent assessor.

  • On Event Production Co. celebrate core values at staff away day

    09/11/16

    We made the most of the late summer sunshine to take our staff to Yeldersley Hall near Ashbourne for an away-day to update everyone on our progress, future plans and to take part in some fun team-building exercises.

    The day began with a look back over the past year, highlighting everything we’ve achieved since we relocated to our new purpose designed HQ in Castle Donington 12 months ago. Our leadership team also looked at the bigger picture, updating the team on our progress against our five-year business plan and discussing where the company’s going and how we’re going to get there.

    After this everyone was split into four teams for what we called ‘Pitch to Guy’.  Each team had to brainstorm ideas to make the business better and then pitch them to Guy, with the winning team getting a bottle of bubbly!

    We then teamed up with leisure and activities company, Closer to the Edge, who organised several team-building exercises, building on values such as trust, communication, conflict resolution and working as a team to get the most out of every situation.

    Moving on to Markeaton Park in Derby, we then tackled the high ropes to put into practice the ‘can-do’ attitude that we had been developing throughout the day.

    Our 'Pitch to Guy’ exercise was a huge success, with feedback from the session already being put into action and a workshop taking place as a follow-up to really get under the skin of our core values here at On.

    Some additional improvements have been made to our customer service actions and a new ‘No-Work Zone' has been introduced at our HQ, complete with a Nintendo Wii and a dartboard, which will allow the team to unwind during their breaks.

    We've also been getting our creative juices flowing in our own offices with the creation of an artificial beach on our mezzanine, complete with sand-printed vinyl floor, surrounded by Astroturf and decorated with deck chairs - All of which has been achieved via the use of recycled materials from previous events.

    Speaking about the away-day, managing director Guy Eaton, said:

    “As a company that holds the Investors in People accreditation and puts its people at the heart of everything we do, it’s essential that we keep our staff happy and healthy and make sure we share our vision for both the company and them as individuals.

    “Our away-day was the perfect opportunity for us to combine these elements. We really value our team’s input and it was great for everyone to get together and do something fun, yet of great value to the company.

    “We’ve received really positive feedback from the Closer to the Edge team, who felt that we are already a high performing team with good inter-personal connectivity. We’re planning to work with them again at another event in early 2017,” added Guy.

    On Event Production Co. invest in new Maxi-low vans to upgrade and expand their fleet of vehicles.

    We’ve been particularly busy driving all over the UK this autumn and with a busy calendar of live events, conferences and roadshows lined up for 2017 we’ve invested in two brand new Vauxhall Maxi-low vans.

    Since first trialling this style of van around a year ago we’ve not looked back as both the load space and payload capacity for this 3.5T vehicle are significantly better than our other standard vans in the same weight category. They come complete with a new more aerodynamic body design to allow greater fuel efficiency and help further reduce pollution.

    These new vehicles will enable us to provide more efficient and economical logistics solutions for our clients making them perfect for roadshows and smaller events where we can fit everything that is needed into one or two of these vehicles.

    Commenting on the investment in new Maxi-low vehicles, Paul White, operations director at On, said:

    “We continually strive to be as efficient as we possibly can be with our operations here at On, and the investment in these two new Maxi-low vans is part of the constant evolution to improve the service to our clients.

    “Not only this, they are also very comfortable and great to drive too – They come equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, rear view camera and comfort seats. All of which will vastly improve the driving experience for our engineers and crew whilst out on the road.”  added Paul.

  • On Purchases L-Acoustics KARA Line Array PA System

    We’re excited to have taken delivery of an L-Acoustics KARA line array PA system, which will enable us to improve our sound offering at the various outdoor music and corporate events we stage across the UK.

    With this summer’s programme of festivals and live events set to commence shortly, we took the decision to invest in this high level sound system to expand our technical equipment inventory and ensure our clients achieve the best possible sound quality.

    The L-Acoustics KARA line array PA system comprises of 18 KARA cabinets, four SB18 subs and four SB28 subs, along with associated rigging accessories and cables. This is powered by our existing stock of L-Acoustics LA8 amplifiers.

    We have an excellent working relationship with suppliers SSE Sales and have used them in the past for the purchase of L-Acoustic equipment.

    WOW – 6 months in our new premises already – Not been in yet? Pop in for a brew and say hi!

    It seems like only last week and yet 6 month’s ago today we opened the doors for the very first time to our new larger, purpose-designed headquarters in Castle Donington.

    We’ve sure had a lot of fun in the past 6 month’s and we’ve also achieved quite a bit since we've moved in too!..

    6 new starters, 1 new director, 1 new van, new clients, new premises branding and signage, new de-prep testing stations to ensure the highest standards for equipment returns, new system dashboards for operational efficiency and lots of new technical equipment has been added to our equipment inventory, including our new 75” Samsung Digital Display screens to name just one of the many new exciting products.

    Everyone has settled in really well to our new home and the move has already provided many benefits for our customers, suppliers and staff.

    It’s been great to see so many friendly faces pop in and to show our clients and suppliers our new premises and facilities – It would be lovely to see you too!

    We are delighted to welcome our new warehouse co-ordinator, Luke Pearce, to the warehousing team here at On.

    Luke's appointment follows the recent expansion of our production team at the start of this year and is the latest addition to our busy warehousing team.

    In his new role, Luke will provide support to our warehouse team, which are responsible for ensuring that the correct equipment is available for our clients and their diverse range of live events.

    Our new facility is strategically located close to the region’s major road networks, including the M1 and A50.

    The 15,000 ft sq. of floor space, double our previous accommodation, has enabled us to further develop our in-house fabrication department and dedicated roadshow division, which will ensure that our finishes are to the highest standards.

    We have moved over 40 tonnes of equipment, over 600 flight cases and drunk a whole load of coffee & tea whilst still delivering a full schedule of events over the past 4 days.

    This latest phase of our expansion programme has been made possible thanks to a funding award from the Derby Enterprise Growth Fund (DEGF).

    We have invested £340,000 in a range of new kit, including the latest Clay Paky Mythos advanced hybrid lighting units, along with a large stock of Chauvet Rogue R2 wash lights, LED battery and batten uplighters and a range of generic lighting fixtures.

    We have also made a significant investment in video and audio equipment, including Samsung 95” LED panel displays and Panasonic PT-EZ580 HD projectors, Analog Way Pulse 2, L’Acoustics 8XT’s, Yamaha QL1 and Yamaha QL5 Digital Audio Desks.

    Commenting on the move, Guy Eaton, managing director of On, said:

    “Moving to a larger, purpose-built facility means that we are now able to offer even more of what our clients want.

    “The recent funding from DEGF has also enabled us to create eight new posts across all levels of the business, which will enable us to cope with the increased demand from our extensive client base, which includes agencies and end-users.

    The Philips Showline eStrip 10 RGBW LED Batten is now available for hire from On Event Production Co.

    To supplement our existing rental stock of Pixelline 1044 LED battens we have invested in the new range of Showline LED Battens from Philips, with thirty-two units of the Showline eStrip 10. These units have been in high demand since arriving with us earlier this summer and are now available to rent.

    "The eStrip 10 LED battens are a great lightweight LED uplighter.

    "They are fantastically bright, easy to use and give a great flat output of colour when uplighting sets and scenery."

    On Event Production Co. stocks up with more L-Acoustics 8XT coaxial speakers.

    Further to On's investment into the L-Acoustics coaxial and ARCS WIDE ranges back in 2013 there's been a constant and growing need for the 8XT and 12XT coaxial speakers. On have added to their stock of speakers and accessories since their initial investment into L-Acoustics and again this summer invest further with the purchase of an additional eight L-Acoustics 8XT speakers, with K&M 214/6 tripod stands and K&M 26735 round base speakers stands to suit.

    The Chauvet Rogue R2 LED Wash moving heads are now available for hire from On Event Production Co.

    Here at On we are constantly seeking to update our fleet of rental equipment, to ensure we offer our clients the highest levels of service and are currently investing £340,000 in the latest technical equipment. As part of our current investment we have added 28 Chauvet Rogue R2 LED Wash lights to our fleet of moving lights.

    Commenting on this recent investment in the Rogue R2 Wash, hire manager, James Pemblington commented:

    "We spent a lot of time thinking about what fixtures will work with our current events schedule as well as being flexible to adapt to the next project.

    James added:

    "The Rogue R2 LED Wash stood out as the fixture for us; Its output is incredible and the pixel control makes the Rogue R2 Wash ideal for eye candy on stage and the zoom ranges enables just a few units to cover a huge area.     The Clay Paky Mythos advanced hybrid lighting fixtures have now landed here at On Event Production Co. and are available to hire.

    Here at On we are constantly seeking to update our fleet of rental equipment, to ensure we offer our clients the highest levels of service and are currently investing £340,000 in the latest technical equipment. As part of our current investment we have added 16 Clay Paky Mythos fixtures to our hire stock.

    The Mythos fixtures are fresh in from the Eurovision and are packed full of features that make these units usable in a number of situations. When in beam mode the fixture produces an amazing 2.5° ‘pipe’ effect. The optics on this unit enable a gobo to be in focus along the entire length of the beam. With two indexable rotating prisms and an advanced visual effect disc it’s easy to see why the Clay Paky Mythos has won so many awards.

    To supplement our existing rental stock of Yamaha LS9-16 and LS9-32 digital audio consoles we have invested in the new range of QL series consoles from Yamaha, with the Yamaha QL5 and Yamaha QL1 digital consoles. These have now arrived and are available for hire.

    The new Yamaha QL1 and Yamaha QL5 audio consoles come packed with some impressive features built into the desks including the revolutionary Dan Dugan Automatic Mixer. The QL series also have Superior Dante Networking built in along with new High visibility channel name displays and colours that add to the overall operation ease and efficiency as well.

    We are constantly seeking to update our fleet of rental equipment, to ensure we offer our clients the highest levels of service and are currently investing £340,000 on the latest kit.

    We are imminently due delivery of the latest Clay Paky Mythos advanced hybrid lighting unit, which is being shipped from Vienna, where it was used on last month’s Eurovision Song Contest.

    We have also ordered a large quantity of Chauvet Rogue R2 wash lights as well as bolstering our current stock of LED battery and batten uplighters, together with generic lighting fixtures.

    In addition, we have made a significant investment in video and audio equipment – some of the highlights include: Samsung 95” LED Panel Display, Panasonic PT-EZ580EJ HD Projectors, Analog Way Pulse 2, L’Acoustics 8XT’s, Yamaha QL1 and Yamaha QL5 Digital Audio Desks.

    Our new headquarters will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure our finishes are to the highest standards. An investment of more than £250,000 is currently being invested to fit out our new premises on the Trent Lane Industrial Estate in Castle Donington.

    This latest phase of our expansion programme has been made possible thanks to the recent funding award from the Derby Enterprise Growth Fund (DEGF), which takes the form of a £182,000 loan and a £100,000 grant.

    Commenting on our investment in new plant and equipment, managing director Guy Eaton, said:

    “The DEGF funding has enabled us to complete the fit-out of our new 15,000 ft2 headquarters and further develop our new in-house fabrication department and dedicated roadshow division.
